Halff Community Initiative

HCI Volunteers from Halff's Austin office serving dinner at Ronald McDonald House in Texas

At Halff, we’re proud to give back to the communities where we live and work. That’s why our employees created the Halff Community Initiative (HCI), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that enhances our neighboring communities while raising awareness of causes that our people value and support. In 2023, HCI donated more than $168,000 to 170 organizations, all selected by Halff employees, across every state we serve.

A Culture of Giving Back

Our employees are passionate about donating volunteer hours. Our activities range from cooking, packing and delivering meals, assembling furniture, providing winter coats, painting homes and buildings, tending to gardens, writing inspirational notes and packing cookies for the homeless, stocking shelves, dressing up as superheroes, purchasing clothing and school supplies, and much more.

Voices of Halff

Perhaps the best measure of our success is the feedback from our strongest assets, our employees. Here’s what they have to say about their experience at Halff.

Rachel Magee

Administrative Assistant

“I truly believe we can change the world. I say this with everything in me. We can change the world and make such an impact if we will serve one another and love one another. There are so many ways to do that, and it’s just being an extension of that within your office.”

Water Resources Team Leader

“It’s wonderful to see that individual Halff offices take on HCI activities that benefit both local communities we live in and our coworkers’ passions. The best part is that these HCI activities also work as team bonding events when everyone in the office volunteers their time and works together.”

Urban/Community Planner

“Everyone has a cause that’s important to them, whether it’s related to health, poverty, animals, education, domestic abuse, children or the environment. HCI makes it easy to give back to help causes that are important to you.”

Tyson Charlson

Senior Graphic Designer

“Watching my family members volunteer when I was young inspired me to do the same. HCI has so many different opportunities to get involved. Halff’s HCI volunteers are like my family and that’s very important to me.”
