Baytown Parks and Recreation Master Plan Earns Special Recognition

Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff) and the City of Baytown received special recognition from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) in the Parks and Natural Areas Award category in 2021 for the City of Baytown Parks and Recreation Department Master Plan.

This plan goes beyond the conventional parks master plan. It incorporates extensive health initiatives, increased park access and active transportation initiatives, proactive resilience actions, habitat restoration and nature-based tourism.

This plan enables Baytown’s Parks and Recreation Department to promote health and well-being across the community, preserve and manage the City’s unique ecological and marine resources, and seize opportunities for economic growth and development.
